{Bliss Board} Harry Potter Party

Excited...Excited...Excited...Excited....

Please allow me to "nerd" out for a minute...

I am super thrilled about the final installment of the Harry Potter series being released this weekend. After reading and listening to all the books, not to mention pausing my to-do lists every time ABC Family runs a HP movie marathon, it's safe to say that I am a bit obsessed. This series is so easy to loose yourself in...the creativity, the adventure, the accents...

Of course, our tickets have already been purchased for Deathly Hallows Part 2. We can't make it to the midnight showing but we are going to be all smiles come Saturday morning in Baton Rouge's new IMAX.

To celebrate the end of the movie series, you must...and I mean MUST...have a shindig! Here is a little Bliss Board to help you celebrate in style:

AND...I'll be experimenting with these Butterbeer Cookies over the weekend as well! Mine won't be as adorable as these are...but I'm going to try! I love Bake at 350...everything on this blog makes my mouth just water for sweet, beautifully decorated treats!

Are there any other Harry Potter nerds out there celebrating this weekend????

Now, I don't have to worry about clogging my computer up with digital photos...I can keep them all on my pinterest. Brilliant!

One of my beautiful brides is using browns and greens with rustic and natural decor for her upcoming wedding. It is going to be gorgeous...I can't wait!

{Bliss Board} Artistic Dinner

Next month, I'm doing a dinner at the fabulous LSU Museum of Art. When I toured the facility to get an idea of the dinner space, I couldn't help but be amazed by the GIANT Blue Dog that covered an entire wall. Being personally obsessed with George Rodrigue and all his dynamic Blue Dog paintings...I let my imagination run wild when thinking of decor for the dinner.

For those not familiar with Blue Dog, here is an example:

Who wouldn't be inspired by that face!

I want to highlight the primary colors and the fact that we are in a museum so artistic flares everywhere! From old paint tins as centerpieces, the menu displayed on an artist's canvas and passed appetizers served on paint palettes...I can't wait to see this dinner come to life!

{Bliss Board} Read Across America Day

Each March 2nd,  the National Education Association celebrates "Read Across America" Day in honor of everyone's favorite children's author, Dr. Seuss. Thousands of schools celebrate and encourage reading by inviting community members into their classrooms to read to the students. Some even dress up as Dr. Seuss characters and eat actual green eggs and ham! What fun!

I'll be heading to a local elementary school this afternoon to read my favorite Dr. Seuss book but as I was perusing the Internet this morning to see how others were celebrating, I ran across several Dr. Seuss themed parties! So adorable...so I threw together a Bliss Board to help you celebrate today in style!

Even if you aren't throwing a big shindig today, you can still get involved! Visit the Read Across America Pledge Site and make a pledge to encourage young students to read TODAY!

{Bliss Board} St. Patrick's Day Fun

The annual St. Patrick's Day parade that passes through our neighborhood just happens to be doing so on my hubby's birthday...so, of course I want to throw a party! I know it isn't even Valentine's Day but I'm already excited about St. Patty's! Here is a little Bliss Board that I'm going to use to plan our festivities:

{Bliss Board} Dog-Gone Good Time!

My amazingly-spoiled cocker spaniel is turning 2 in a couple of weeks and since my days of spoiling just him are numbered (with Baby Henry on the way!), we are going to do it "big" for his upcoming birthday! Here is a Bliss Board for his big day...

{Bliss Board} LSU Spouses Luncheon

In early October, I'll be coordinating an informal luncheon for a group of spouses. Since these individuals are LSU related, I want to keep the colors purple and gold without being obvious. So, I've chosen a lemon and lavender theme...focusing on the lemons! What an easy, simple yet chic way to decorate...I can't wait! I love the idea of fresh lemonade in mason jars and the fresh lemons as place cards. Check out this Bliss Board I'm using as inspiration as I begin to plan all the details:

{Bliss Board} Bid Day!

This Saturday is Bid Day for sorority recruitment at LSU. Each year, the new members have a pool party celebration the evening of Bid Day thrown by the alumnae of that sorority. I am so excited to be part of that group this year...and of course, I had to do a little Bliss Board for the details I've been charged with:

This is just a little sneak peak...I can't wait to share all the pictures after this weekend!

{Bliss Board} LSU Baby Shower

I bleed purple and gold as much as the next guy but I think a baby shower decked out in all things Tigers can get a bit cheesy. FEAR NOT TIGER FANS, with lavender and lemon instead of the bright purple and gold as your color scheme, the shower can still be spirited without crossing that line.

{Bliss Board} Winter Wonderland

I have a beautiful bride that has chosen New Year's Eve as her date with a Winter Wonderland as her vision. How spectacular, right? My mind went spinning with ideas and this was the bliss board I created:

Her colors are blue and silver, which is perfect for that Winter Wonderland theme, with sparklers and party hats reinforcing the New Year vibe. I love the idea of a "wish tree" for the guests to write down wishes, advice or even resolutions for the couple. Since the reception will be held at a country club, candles around the pool and the golf cart "get away" could be nice touches.

What screams Winter Wonderland Wedding to you?

{Bliss Board} Vintage Wedding Blues

One of my brides is dreaming of a 1940s bash for her big day filled with navy and light blue. How fab, right? I am really excited about her vision so I went on a search for inspiration and created this board:
